Melvyn H. Halper

Mel has maintained a diverse and sophisticated real estate practice representing private and institutional clients in all aspects of real estate acquisition, ownership and development. He represents corporations and other business entities in a wide variety of business transactions and activities.  He regularly assists clients in the organization, reorganization and reformation of partnerships, joint ventures, corporations, limited liability companies and other investment vehicles used in commercial ventures.  He has represented individual investors in connection  with business disputes arising from the administration or business activities of these entities.

He has provided comprehensive legal and business supervisory services to domestic and foreign investors in real estate located throughout the U.S.

Mel has substantial experience in private, institutional and governmental financing transactions both related and unrelated to real estate transactions.  He has extensively represented borrowers and lenders in mortgage loan and other financing transactions and has been the partner responsible for representing two national  banking institutions in connection with their real estate loans and related transactions.

• Mortgage loan of $21,000,000 on commercial real property located in Pennsylvania
• Investment banking agreement for services in connection with the proposed sale of a finance company
• Representation of a significant contributor of real property located in New York and elsewhere in the United States to a major proposed REIT
• Supervised the legal aspects of the U.S. real estate investment program of Asian investors
• Dispute between partners in entity owning a major office building located in New York City
